A search is underway for Thahir, a tipper lorry driver from Chathanur, who went missing after his vehicle fell into a muddy pond at a quarry in Karukaputhur near Pattambi. The incident occurred on Thursday morning when a mound of earth collapsed during quarry-filling work, causing the lorry to overturn and sink. Fire and Rescue Services teams from Pattambi, Shoranur, and Malappuram have been deployed to conduct the search operation. The quarry had been undergoing soil-filling work for approximately one month prior to the accident.
