Akhilesh Yadav Attacks Rebel MLAs Joining BJP, Calls Them 'Waiting Candidates'

Three rebel Samajwadi Party MLAs, expelled for cross-voting in Rajya Sabha elections two years ago, have formally joined the BJP. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized the MLAs without naming them, stating that after years of waiting, they received little more than a membership slip. He suggested that in their new party, they would remain 'waiting candidates' for years, rather than actual nominees. The MLAs joined the BJP in the presence of former Union Minister Smriti Irani and state BJP chief Pankaj Chaudhary.

राज्यसभा चुनावों में दो साल पहले क्रॉस-वोटिंग के कारण निष्कासित तीन बागी समाजवादी पार्टी के विधायकों ने औपचारिक रूप से भाजपा का दामन थाम लिया है। सपा प्रमुख अखिलेश यादव ने विधायकों की पहचान बताए बिना उनकी आलोचना करते हुए कहा कि सालों के इंतजार के बाद उन्हें सदस्यता पर्ची से ज्यादा कुछ नहीं मिला। उन्होंने सुझाव दिया कि अपनी नई पार्टी में वे असली उम्मीदवार बनने के बजाय सालों तक 'वेटिंग कैंडिडेट' बनकर ही रहेंगे। विधायकों ने पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री स्मृति ईरानी और प्रदेश भाजपा अध्यक्ष पंकज चौधरी की मौजूदगी में भाजपा की सदस्यता ली।
