TV9 Hindi · india

The Hindu Jagran Manch has sparked controversy in Siliguri, West Bengal, by putting up over a hundred posters urging Hindus to buy from Hindu-owned shops and eat biryani at such establishments. The organization claims these are mere appeals, not directives, aimed at awakening the community and supporting local Hindu businesses to boost the economy. Local CPM leader Ashok Bhattacharya has demanded police action, calling the posters a crime in a secular country and urging arrests. The BJP has distanced itself from the campaign, stating they are not involved.
