Eight labourers and a contractor died in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, when a road construction mixer machine touched an 11 KV power line. The accident occurred in Chapoli village, Udaipurwati police station area, as the line was found to be hanging at 13 feet instead of the required 19 feet. Reports suggest the auto-cut system failed, and power was not cut from the grid even after the electrocution. Villagers protested, demanding compensation, which was later settled at ₹15 lakh for each deceased's family and a contract job for one family member.
