A flash flood caused by the Shintaphu glacial lake bursting its banks has damaged infrastructure at Bhutan's Gasa Tshachu natural hot springs. State broadcaster BBS reported no injuries or fatalities from the Thursday night event, but the full extent of the damage remains unclear due to darkness and strong currents. Roads leading to the area have been washed away, rendering them impassable indefinitely. Authorities are assessing the damage and concerns have arisen about a new artificial lake formed by the floodwaters.
