Supreme Court Seeks Centre's Response On Central Vista Library Safety

The Supreme Court has taken suo motu cognisance of media reports concerning the 132-year-old Central Vista Library. It has asked the central government to file an affidavit detailing the space allocated for the CSL in the new Central Vista plan. The court questioned if the new location will be adequate for the library's 8.5 lakh books and an additional 2 lakh books stored elsewhere.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने 132 साल पुरानी सेंट्रल विस्टा लाइब्रेरी से जुड़ी मीडिया रिपोर्ट्स पर खुद संज्ञान लिया है। इसने केंद्र सरकार से नए सेंट्रल विस्टा प्लान में CSL के लिए आवंटित जगह का ब्योरा देते हुए हलफनामा दाखिल करने को कहा है। कोर्ट ने सवाल किया कि क्या नई जगह लाइब्रेरी की 8.5 लाख किताबों और कहीं और रखी 2 लाख अतिरिक्त किताबों के लिए पर्याप्त होगी।
