A self-help group in Jharkhand's Gumla district, started with women saving just Rs 2 each, has evolved into a thriving ragi enterprise. The associated farmer producer organisation now boasts 1,501 members, a significant increase from 381 in 2022. This collective focuses on the entire ragi value chain, from cultivation support to processing and selling products like ragi laddoos. The enterprise generates monthly sales of Rs 6-7 lakh and provides regular employment for over 150 women, empowering them financially and socially.

झारखंड के गुमला जिले में एक सेल्फ-हेल्प ग्रुप, जिसकी शुरुआत महिलाओं ने सिर्फ 2 रुपये बचाकर की थी, अब एक सफल रागी उद्यम बन गया है। इससे जुड़ी किसान उत्पादक संगठन में अब 1,501 सदस्य हैं, जो 2022 में 381 सदस्यों की तुलना में काफी ज़्यादा है। यह समूह रागी की पूरी वैल्यू चेन पर ध्यान देता है, जिसमें खेती में मदद से लेकर रागी के लड्डू जैसे उत्पादों को प्रोसेस करना और बेचना शामिल है। यह उद्यम हर महीने 6-7 लाख रुपये की बिक्री करता है और 150 से ज़्यादा महिलाओं को नियमित रोज़गार देता है, जिससे वे आर्थिक और सामाजिक रूप से सशक्त हो रही हैं।
