Telangana CEO Orders Action Against False Statements in Voter Forms

Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharsan Reddy has directed District Election Officers and Collectors to take action against applicants submitting false statements in Forms-6, 6A, 7, and 8. This directive follows the CEO's office noticing instances of bulk applications in Form-7 and allegations of their inauthenticity. Inquiries will be conducted under Rule 20 of the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960, before action is taken under the Representation of People Act, 1950. The move aims to ensure the integrity of the electoral roll by preventing fraudulent submissions.
