Aasu Protests Poor Condition of National Highways

Members of the All Assam Students’ Union (Aasu) demonstrated in Makum on Friday, demanding urgent repairs for National Highways 37 and 38. Protesters highlighted the significant inconvenience caused by potholes and damaged road surfaces, particularly near the busy Makum junction. Aasu leaders stated that these highways are crucial links in upper Assam, used by thousands of vehicles daily. They called for immediate repair work and regular maintenance to ensure safe and smooth vehicle movement, expressing concern over the current state of the roads.

ऑल আসাম स्टूडेंट्स यूनियन (Aasu) के सदस्यों ने शुक्रवार को माकुम में प्रदर्शन किया। उन्होंने नेशनल हाईवे 37 और 38 की तुरंत मरम्मत की मांग की। प्रदर्शनकारियों ने गड्ढों और खराब सड़कों से हो रही परेशानी पर जोर दिया, खासकर माकुम जंक्शन के पास। Aasu नेताओं ने कहा कि ये हाईवे अपर असम के लिए बहुत ज़रूरी हैं और रोज़ाना हज़ारों गाड़ियाँ इनसे गुज़रती हैं। उन्होंने सड़कों की सुरक्षा और सुचारू आवागमन के लिए तत्काल मरम्मत और नियमित रखरखाव की मांग की।
