The Hindu · india
Delhi traders have flagged potential disruption to 21 wholesale and retail markets due to a proposed Congress rally on November 1. The Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI) has written to Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, requesting the rally be postponed until after Bhai Dooj or moved to an alternative venue. Traders are concerned about barricading, road closures, and customer access during the crucial festive shopping period. The CTI projects potential losses of up to ₹10,000 crore if commercial activity in Old Delhi comes to a standstill.
