Nashik Jail Guard Caught With Charas, Granted Bail Due To Minor Quantity

A guard at Nashik Road Central Jail, Ravindra Eknath Patil, was apprehended on November 4 for possessing 33 grams of charas. He was caught during a routine security check before entering the prison premises, with the contraband taped to his thighs. Police suspect he intended to sell it to inmates for financial gain. However, a Nashik court granted Patil bail because the seized quantity of charas was classified as a minor category under the NDPS Act.
