Hard water buildup, or limescale, often clogs showerhead holes, reducing water pressure and spray. While vinegar and baking soda offer some help, citric acid is a more effective solution for hardened mineral deposits. Specialists recommend mixing two to three tablespoons of citric acid powder into warm water. Soaking the showerhead for thirty minutes to an hour, or using a plastic bag if removal isn't possible, allows the acid to break down the limescale.
