Bareilly: 26 Hindu Voters' Names Removed From List, BLO Suspended

In Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, a BLO has been suspended after 26 Hindu voters' names were allegedly removed from the voter list of Mohammadpur Gram Panchayat in Shergarh block. The Gram Pradhan filed a complaint alleging communal bias and collusion with the former Pradhan. Several villagers submitted affidavits supporting the complaint. A three-member inquiry committee found the BLO, Nafees Mohammad Khan, prima facie guilty for failing to provide evidence for the name removals. The District Magistrate has ordered a thorough investigation into the matter.

उत्तर प्रदेश के बरेली में शेरगढ़ ब्लॉक के मोहम्मदपुर ग्राम पंचायत की मतदाता सूची से कथित तौर पर 26 हिंदू मतदाताओं के नाम हटा दिए जाने के बाद एक बीएलओ को निलंबित कर दिया गया है। ग्राम प्रधान ने सांप्रदायिक पक्षपात और पूर्व प्रधान के साथ मिलीभगत का आरोप लगाते हुए शिकायत दर्ज कराई। कई ग्रामीणों ने शिकायत के समर्थन में हलफनामे जमा किए। तीन सदस्यीय जांच समिति ने बीएलओ, नफीस मोहम्मद खान को नाम हटाने के लिए सबूत पेश करने में विफल रहने पर प्रथम दृष्टया दोषी पाया। जिला मजिस्ट्रेट ने मामले की गहन जांच के आदेश दिए हैं।
