The BJP has defended the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, accusing opposition parties and the CJP of politicising the exercise after electoral setbacks. BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad stated that the Supreme Court upheld the SIR process, dismissing challenges from parties like Congress and TMC. He criticised the opposition for creating a narrative that Indian democracy is under threat, especially when the country is progressing economically. Prasad also highlighted alleged misconduct against judicial officers overseeing electoral processes in West Bengal.
