Veteran actor Nana Patekar once confessed to feeling intense self-hatred and shame after the death of his elder son, Durvasa. Durvasa suffered from a serious illness from birth, affecting his vision. Patekar revealed in an interview that his primary concern at the time was not his son's suffering, but what people would think of his son's condition. Durvasa passed away at the age of two and a half. Nana Patekar and his ex-wife Neelkanthi Patekar also have another son, Malhar Patekar.
