Chinese technology giant Tencent Holdings is planning to raise at least $4.5 billion by selling US dollar and offshore Chinese yuan bonds. The move comes as the company significantly increases its investment in artificial intelligence infrastructure and products. Tencent's capital expenditure on computing equipment, software, and data centres more than doubled in the first half of 2026 compared to the previous year. This borrowing follows a similar bond issuance in June that raised approximately $4.66 billion. The proceeds are intended for general corporate purposes.
