ECI Clarifies Voter List Issue: No Jail for Re-applying

The ECI stated that submitting Form-6 again is not a crime or a false declaration, even if the voter was previously listed. Voters can confidently submit Form-6 to get their names included, provided their name is not already registered elsewhere.

चुनाव आयोग (ECI) ने साफ किया है कि SIR प्रक्रिया के बाद ड्राफ्ट मतदाता सूची से जिन पुराने मतदाताओं के नाम गायब हैं, उन्हें दोबारा आवेदन करने पर किसी कानूनी कार्रवाई का डर नहीं रखना चाहिए। ECI ने कहा कि फॉर्म-6 को दोबारा जमा करना कोई अपराध या झूठा एलान नहीं है, भले ही मतदाता पहले से सूचीबद्ध हो। दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट के फैसले के समर्थन वाली यह स्पष्टता जनता की चिंता को कम करने के लिए है। मतदाता अपने नाम को शामिल कराने के लिए आत्मविश्वास से फॉर्म-6 जमा कर सकते हैं, बशर्ते उनका नाम कहीं और पहले से पंजीकृत न हो।
