MCD Acts Against 1,046 Properties After Satya Niketan Building Collapse

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has taken action against 1,046 properties for illegal construction and unsafe buildings between September 6 and October 10. This intensified drive followed a building collapse in Satya Niketan on September 6, which resulted in seven fatalities. Across its 12 zones, the MCD sealed 282 properties and demolished 47 dangerous structures. The Rohini zone recorded the highest number of actions with 158 properties. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated the campaign aims to ensure building regulation compliance and reduce accident risks.
