CEAT shares plummeted over 9% after the tyre manufacturer reported a steep 96% year-on-year decline in net profit to Rs 4 crore for the first quarter. The significant drop was attributed to escalating raw material costs, exacerbated by the West Asia crisis. Despite this, revenue from operations saw a healthy 22% increase, reaching Rs 4,318 crore.
