Patna HC Orders Rs 2 Lakh Compensation For Bulldozer Victim

The Patna High Court has ordered the state chief secretary to ensure interim compensation of Rs 2 lakh is paid to a Nawada resident whose house was demolished through unauthorised bulldozer action. The court clarified that an order for land possession does not grant legal authorisation to demolish any standing structure. Justice Raj Kumar passed this order while allowing a decade-old writ petition. The court also directed the appointment of a senior officer to assess the total compensation, adjusting the interim payment.

पटना हाईकोर्ट ने राज्य के मुख्य सचिव को निर्देश दिया है कि नवादा के एक निवासी को 2 लाख रुपये की अंतरिम मुआवजा राशि दी जाए, जिसका घर अनधिकृत बुलडोजर कार्रवाई में तोड़ दिया गया था। कोर्ट ने साफ किया कि जमीन पर कब्जे का आदेश किसी भी खड़ी संरचना को गिराने की कानूनी अनुमति नहीं देता है। जस्टिस राज कुमार ने एक दशक पुरानी रिट याचिका को स्वीकार करते हुए यह आदेश दिया। कोर्ट ने अंतरिम भुगतान को समायोजित करते हुए कुल मुआवजे का आकलन करने के लिए एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी की नियुक्ति का भी निर्देश दिया।
