Supreme Court Declines Mamata Banerjee's Plea Against Freezing of TMC Bank Accounts

The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to hear a plea by the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress challenging the freezing of four party bank accounts. A bench noted that the matter is already pending before the Calcutta High Court. The court stated it would not delve into the merits of the case, especially as the Election Commission had issued an interim order regarding the party's symbol. The larger issue of which TMC faction is entitled to the funds remains unresolved.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने गुरुवार को ममता बनर्जी के नेतृत्व वाली तृणमूल कांग्रेस की चार पार्टी बैंक खातों को फ्रीज करने को चुनौती देने वाली याचिका सुनने से इनकार कर दिया। एक बेंच ने कहा कि यह मामला पहले से ही कलकत्ता हाई कोर्ट में लंबित है। अदालत ने कहा कि वह मामले के गुणों में नहीं जाएगी, खासकर जब चुनाव आयोग ने पार्टी के प्रतीक के संबंध में एक अंतरिम आदेश जारी किया था। किस टीएमसी गुट को धन का अधिकार है, यह बड़ा मुद्दा अनसुलझा बना हुआ है।
