Kolkata Police have arrested Sanjeev Raha, the alleged announcer at the Chorbagan Sarbajanin Durga Puja pandal, in connection with the stampede that killed 19 people. Allegations suggest that a false announcement of a pandal collapse triggered panic, leading to the deadly stampede. This arrest follows the detention of 14 people earlier, with seven subsequently arrested. The West Bengal government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the incident, which the Chief Minister attributed to human error.
