Egypt follows with 1.93 lakh tonnes, and Morocco ranks third with 1.19 lakh tonnes. Turkey also dominates the dried fig market, accounting for nearly 49% of the global 1.33 lakh tonnes produced. This leadership is attributed to favorable geography in regions like Aydın and İzmir, the prevalence of the 'Sarilop' variety, and advanced cultivation techniques including caprification. Turkey is also the leading exporter, shipping figs to over 100 countries.
