Kerala HC: Political Activities Have No Place In Educational Institutions
The Hindu · india
The Kerala High Court has ruled that political activities like dharna and hunger strikes are inappropriate in academic institutions. A Division Bench quashed a Single Bench order that allowed 16 SFI activists to take semester exams, citing a 2017 ruling. The court stated educational institutions are for learning, not politics, and students involved in such activities risk expulsion. The activists were suspended pending an inquiry for allegedly staging a mock cremation of the Vice-Chancellor and manhandling her.
