The BJP has targeted Rahul Gandhi, sharing a video of his past remarks on Hindutva and Hinduism, alleging he pretends to be Hindu during elections. This follows Gandhi's recent post of a sacred 'Tripund Tilak' after his acquittal in a defamation case. The BJP also questioned the Congress's criticism of the Chief Election Commissioner appointment process, highlighting that during Congress rule, selection was solely by the Prime Minister and Cabinet without opposition consultation. The party asked if Gandhi's current stance reflects concern for democracy or his party's absence from power.
