SC Refuses Bail for Azam Khan in Fresh ED Case, Sends Matter to HC

Times of India · politics

The Supreme Court has refused to entertain a bail plea filed by Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan in a new Enforcement Directorate (ED) case. The court has transferred the matter to the Allahabad High Court, directing the Chief Justice to list it before a division bench. Khan, a 10-time MLA, had approached the apex court after his arrest by the ED on October 31, shortly after securing bail in another case. He alleged political motivation behind his arrest and sought interim bail citing health issues.
