Two Colonial-Era Buildings in Mylapore, Santhome Area Set to Turn 100

The Hindu · india

Two significant colonial-era buildings in Chennai's Mylapore and Santhome areas are approaching their centenary milestones. A small TANGEDCO office, a colonial structure near the bishop's house, is dated to 1927 and will turn 100 in January. Separately, a pumping station in Sullivan's Gardens, now PS Sivaswami Salai, is celebrating its centenary this year, marked by an inscription of 1926. Both buildings, despite their historical significance, appear to be in a state of neglect or are hidden from public view.
