Ahead of Diwali, 160 potter families in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's parliamentary constituency Varanasi received modern electric potter's wheels. The initiative, part of the Village Industries Development Scheme, aims to integrate traditional skills with technology to improve livelihoods. Khadi and Village Industries Commission chairman Manoj Goel distributed the wheels, stating they will enable potters to produce more items faster and with less effort. This boost in productivity is expected to enhance income and self-employment opportunities for the artisan families.
