Trichy Corporation has removed 95 encroachments, including 65 from street vendors, from the no-vending zone near the Rockfort hillock temple complex. The drive, conducted on Saturday with police support, aimed to regulate traffic congestion on NSB Road and Big Bazaar Street ahead of the Diwali festive season. Officials seized some vendor properties and issued warnings. While the public welcomed the eviction, they also highlighted issues with on-street parking. The corporation plans to divert vehicles to the multi-level car parking facility.

तिरुचि निगम ने रॉकफोर्ट पहाड़ी मंदिर परिसर के पास नो-वेंडिंग ज़ोन से 95 अतिक्रमण हटा दिए हैं, जिनमें 65 स्ट्रीट वेंडर शामिल हैं। पुलिस की मदद से शनिवार को चलाए गए इस अभियान का मकसद दिवाली त्योहारी सीज़न से पहले एनएसबी रोड और बिग बाज़ार स्ट्रीट पर ट्रैफिक जाम को नियंत्रित करना था। अधिकारियों ने कुछ वेंडरों की संपत्ति जब्त की और चेतावनी जारी की। जनता ने अतिक्रमण हटाने का स्वागत किया, लेकिन सड़क पर पार्किंग की समस्याओं को भी उजागर किया। निगम ने वाहनों को मल्टी-लेवल कार पार्किंग सुविधा में भेजने की योजना बनाई है।
