Kerala HC to decide on prosecution sanction

The Kerala High Court is examining whether sanction is required to prosecute individuals accused in the SNDP microfinance scam. The accused include SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan. The Backward Classes Development Secretary argued sanction is unnecessary for private parties, but the Special Public Prosecutor for Vigilance disagreed, stating it is necessary. The court has requested final reports to review the sanction process. The matter will be heard again on September 22, 2026.

केरल हाई कोर्ट SNDP माइक्रोफाइनेंस घोटाले के आरोपियों पर मुकदमा चलाने के लिए मंजूरी की ज़रूरत है या नहीं, इसकी जाँच कर रहा है। आरोपियों में SNDP योगम के महासचिव वेल्लापल्ली नतेसन भी शामिल हैं। पिछड़ा वर्ग विकास सचिव का कहना है कि निजी पक्षों के लिए मंजूरी ज़रूरी नहीं है, लेकिन विजिलेंस के स्पेशल पब्लिक प्रॉसिक्यूटर इससे सहमत नहीं हैं। कोर्ट ने मंजूरी प्रक्रिया की समीक्षा के लिए अंतिम रिपोर्ट मांगी है। मामले की अगली सुनवाई 22 सितंबर 2026 को होगी।
