Swarovski Sees India Growth Surge as Consumers Buy More For Themselves

Times of India · business

Austrian crystal brand Swarovski is experiencing significant growth in India, now one of its fastest-expanding markets globally. This surge is driven by a notable shift in consumer behaviour, with self-purchases of jewellery and accessories increasingly matching traditional gifting occasions, moving from an 80-20 split to nearly 50-50. The brand is appealing to younger consumers, particularly millennials born post-1990, who are drawn to accessible luxury items priced between Rs 13,000-25,000. Swarovski plans to expand its retail presence and is optimistic about a strong Diwali season, building on double-digit like-for-like growth.
