PM Modi Announces Ex-Gratia For Kolkata Durga Puja Stampede Victims

A stampede at a Durga Puja pandal in North Kolkata evening has resulted in 19 deaths and left 35 people injured. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the incident, announcing an ex-gratia payment of ₹2 lakh for the kin of each deceased and ₹50,000 for the injured from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund. President Droupadi Murmu also conveyed her condolences to the affected families and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.

उत्तर कोलकाता में एक दुर्गा पूजा पंडाल में शाम को हुई भगदड़ में 19 लोगों की मौत हो गई और 35 लोग घायल हो गए। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने इस घटना पर गहरा दुख व्यक्त किया और प्रधानमंत्री राष्ट्रीय राहत कोष से प्रत्येक मृतक के परिजनों को ₹2 लाख और घायलों को ₹50,000 की अनुग्रह राशि देने की घोषणा की। राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू ने भी प्रभावित परिवारों के प्रति संवेदना व्यक्त की और घायलों के शीघ्र स्वस्थ होने की कामना की।
