Odisha readies over 1,700 cyclone shelters as Arnab nears AP coast

Odisha is preparing for Cyclone Arnab, which is expected to make landfall along the Andhra Pradesh coast on Wednesday. The state government has readied 135 permanent and 1,600 temporary cyclone shelters and released Rs 19 crore for relief operations in southern districts. Authorities are planning need-based evacuations from vulnerable areas and have imposed restrictions in landslide-prone zones. The India Meteorological Department forecasts heavy to extremely heavy rainfall and squally winds across southern Odisha from Tuesday.

ओडिशा चक्रवात अरनाब के लिए तैयार हो रहा है, जिसके बुधवार को आंध्र प्रदेश तट के पास पहुँचने की उम्मीद है। राज्य सरकार ने 135 स्थायी और 1,600 अस्थायी चक्रवात आश्रय तैयार किए हैं और दक्षिणी जिलों में राहत कार्यों के लिए 19 करोड़ रुपये जारी किए हैं। अधिकारी संवेदनशील इलाकों से ज़रूरत के अनुसार लोगों को निकालने की योजना बना रहे हैं और भूस्खलन संभावित क्षेत्रों में प्रतिबंध लगा दिए हैं। भारत मौसम विज्ञान विभाग ने मंगलवार से दक्षिणी ओडिशा में भारी से बहुत भारी बारिश और तूफानी हवाओं का अनुमान लगाया है।
