SC Asks MP To Join Investigation, Rejects Virtual

The Supreme Court has declined to interfere with a high court order directing Krishnanagar MP Mahua Moitra to join an investigation. Senior advocate Gopal Sankaranarayanan argued Moitra should be allowed to appear virtually, citing legal entitlement. However, the bench, comprising Justices Dipankar Datta and Sheel Nagu, was not inclined to grant this request.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कलकत्ता हाई कोर्ट के उस आदेश में दखल देने से मना कर दिया है जिसमें कृष्णानगर की सांसद महुआ मोइत्रा को जांच में शामिल होने का निर्देश दिया गया था। सीनियर वकील गोपाल शंकरनारायणन ने दलील दी कि महुआ मोइत्रा को वर्चुअल तरीके से पेश होने की इजाजत मिलनी चाहिए। लेकिन जस्टिस दीपांकर दत्ता और शील नागू की बेंच ने यह मांग नहीं मानी।
