The United States offered to sell uranium to Iran for its civilian nuclear program as part of past negotiations to end the war on Iran, according to US Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz. He stated that the proposed agreement would have mirrored the one with the United Arab Emirates, which adheres to international law and inspection regimes. Waltz indicated that the Trump administration was open to Iran maintaining a civilian nuclear program if it met its treaty obligations. This offer aimed to ensure Iran did not acquire weapons-grade uranium.
