Political alliances have dissolved for the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (RTC) recognised union elections, scheduled for. The ruling Congress is supporting an independent group, the Telangana Workers’ Union, and the CITU-affiliated Staff and Workers’ Federation, bypassing its own INTUC union. This move has drawn criticism from the CPI, whose affiliated union is contesting against the Congress-backed coalition. The elections will determine the state-level recognised union and regional unions, with nearly 36,000 staff eligible to vote.
