KSRTC to Expand Services with Public Participation, Says Transport Minister

Kerala Transport Minister C.P. John announced that the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will expand its services and infrastructure with public participation. Committees involving local body heads and ward members will be formed to ensure local participation in KSRTC operations. The government is also implementing schemes to make KSRTC more affordable and financially viable, focusing on reducing capital expenditure and managing operational costs efficiently. Around 100 KSRTC buses have been refurbished for the upcoming Sabarimala pilgrimage season, with chartered services also planned.

केरल के परिवहन मंत्री सी.पी. जॉन ने घोषणा की कि केरल राज्य सड़क परिवहन निगम (KSRTC) सार्वजनिक भागीदारी से अपनी सेवाओं और बुनियादी ढांचे का विस्तार करेगा। KSRTC के संचालन में स्थानीय भागीदारी सुनिश्चित करने के लिए स्थानीय निकाय प्रमुखों और वार्ड सदस्यों को शामिल करते हुए समितियां बनाई जाएंगी। सरकार KSRTC को अधिक किफायती और वित्तीय रूप से व्यवहार्य बनाने के लिए योजनाएं भी लागू कर रही है, जिसमें पूंजीगत व्यय को कम करने और परिचालन लागत को कुशलतापूर्वक प्रबंधित करने पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया गया है। आगामी सबरीमाला तीर्थयात्रा सीजन के लिए लगभग 100 KSRTC बसों को नया रूप दिया गया है, और चार्टर्ड सेवाओं की भी योजना है।
