New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner recognizes the significant threat posed by Indian stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. He anticipates their presence will draw large crowds for the upcoming ODI series, similar to the T20Is. Santner acknowledged that containing India's formidable top order, including Shubman Gill, will be a major challenge. He stressed the need for consistent bowling and sustained pressure rather than relying on a single strategy to counter the experienced Indian batting lineup.
