He questioned why an Inspector-General of Police acted in such a manner, suggesting the police "went overboard" and violated protocol. Siddaramaiah confirmed that other ministers were also stopped and that he intervened to allow them entry. An inquiry has been ordered by the government to investigate the incident and determine if any directives were given to the police.
