GCC Demands ₹847 Crore Property Tax Dues

The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has urged over six lakh property owners to clear ₹847 crore in current and pending property tax dues by September 30. Out of 14,15,771 property owners, 8,12,539 have paid their taxes without arrears. The remaining 6,03,232 owners owe substantial amounts. Property tax is crucial for funding essential civic services like infrastructure, waste management, and public health initiatives within the city.

चेन्नई निगम (GCC) ने छह लाख से ज़्यादा संपत्ति मालिकों से कहा है कि 30 सितंबर तक ₹847 करोड़ का मौजूदा और बकाया प्रॉपर्टी टैक्स चुका दें। कुल 14,15,771 मालिकों में से 8,12,539 ने बिना किसी बकाए के टैक्स भर दिया है। बाकी बचे 6,03,232 मालिकों पर काफी रकम बकाया है। प्रॉपर्टी टैक्स शहर में ज़रूरी सेवाओं के लिए बहुत अहम है।
