Old Goa Panchayat to Issue Stop Work Order To Industrial Yard Operating in Residential Area

The Old Goa gram sabha has resolved to issue a stop-work order to an industrial yard operating in a densely populated residential area near a school on Kadamba Plateau. Residents have complained about noise and air pollution from the yard, which is located just 20 meters from housing complex walls. Multiple complaints have been filed since November 2025 regarding pollution and deforestation. The yard's operations, using heavy machinery, are reportedly violating noise limits and generating significant dust and emissions, posing risks to nearby residents and students.

पुराने गोवा की ग्राम सभा ने कदम्बा पठार के पास एक घनी आबादी वाले आवासीय इलाके में स्कूल के नज़दीक चल रहे एक औद्योगिक यार्ड को काम रोकने का आदेश जारी करने का फैसला किया है। निवासियों ने यार्ड से होने वाले शोर और वायु प्रदूषण की शिकायत की है, जो हाउसिंग कॉम्प्लेक्स की दीवारों से महज़ 20 मीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है। नवंबर 2025 से प्रदूषण और वनों की कटाई को लेकर कई शिकायतें दर्ज की गई हैं। भारी मशीनरी का इस्तेमाल करने वाले यार्ड के संचालन से शोर की सीमा का उल्लंघन हो रहा है और काफी धूल और उत्सर्जन पैदा हो रहा है, जिससे आस-पास के निवासियों और छात्रों को खतरा है।
