Following the India-UK Free Trade Agreement, prices for Scotch whisky in India have dropped by 10-15% for the first time. Brands like Johnnie Walker Black Label and J&B are seeing reduced prices in states such as Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Goa, and Uttar Pradesh. Pernod Ricard has applied to reduce prices for Chivas and Ballantine's. This marks the first significant price cut for consumers since the trade agreement took effect. The reduction in import tariffs is expected to increase competition for Indian single malts.
