Delhi to Implement Barrier-Free Toll Collection at 126 Entry Points

MCD has approved a plan to collect toll tax and ECC without physical barriers at 126 entry points into the city. Commercial vehicles will no longer need to stop, with identification and payment handled via cameras and RFID technology. The MCD Standing Committee has authorized the issuance of tenders for this system, aiming to reduce traffic congestion. A minimum annual revenue of ₹910 crore has been proposed for the toll collection contract, which will be awarded for six years.

MCD ने शहर में 126 एंट्री पॉइंट्स पर बिना किसी फिजिकल बैरियर के टोल टैक्स और ECC वसूलने की योजना को मंजूरी दे दी है। अब व्यावसायिक वाहनों को रुकना नहीं पड़ेगा, उनकी पहचान और भुगतान कैमरों और RFID टेक्नोलॉजी से होगा। MCD स्टैंडिंग कमेटी ने इस सिस्टम के लिए टेंडर जारी करने की इजाजत दे दी है। इसका मकसद ट्रैफिक जाम को कम करना है। टोल कलेक्शन कॉन्ट्रैक्ट के लिए कम से कम ₹910 करोड़ के सालाना रेवेन्यू का प्रस्ताव है, जो छह साल के लिए दिया जाएगा।
