Tribal Farmer Alleges 10-Acre Land Grab in Attappady

A tribal farmer in Attappady has filed a complaint alleging his ancestral 10-acre land was resold under dubious circumstances. Balan from Paloor hamlet claims he was offered ₹50 lakh in 2022 but only received ₹24 lakh, with unknown persons fencing the land last week. He alleges the land has been resold multiple times, despite him paying land tax until 2023. Local residents suggest such land deals are common, with land worth crores changing hands.

अट्टापडी के एक आदिवासी किसान ने शिकायत की है कि उनकी पुश्तैनी 10 एकड़ ज़मीन संदिग्ध तरीके से दोबारा बेची गई है। बालान का आरोप है कि 2022 में उन्हें 50 लाख रुपये का ऑफर मिला था, लेकिन मिले सिर्फ 24 लाख। पिछले हफ्ते कुछ अनजान लोगों ने ज़मीन पर बाड़ लगा दी। उन्होंने 2023 तक ज़मीन का टैक्स भरा था, फिर भी ज़मीन कई बार बेची गई। स्थानीय लोग बताते हैं कि ऐसे सौदे आम हैं, जहाँ करोड़ों की ज़मीन बिक जाती है।
