A developing low-pressure area is expected to shift rainfall activity towards southern Tamil Nadu, potentially leaving northern districts largely dry for the remainder of October. IMD has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rain in three southern districts and a yellow alert for 19 others on Wednesday. Chennai is likely to experience moderate rain, with temperatures ranging from 30°C-31°C maximum and 25°C-26°C minimum. This shift follows recent widespread showers that have pushed Chennai's monthly rainfall significantly above normal.
