Turkiye Parliament Ratifies Mecca Defence Pact With Pakistan and Saudi Arabia

Turkiye has submitted the trilateral defence pact, known as the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement, to its parliament for ratification. Signed on August 7, the pact aims to establish a joint defence architecture for the region. It stipulates that an armed attack on any member state will be met with all necessary means, including military assistance, similar to NATO's Article 5. The agreement also includes provisions for defence industry cooperation, intelligence sharing, and fighting terrorism. The pact is set to last for 10 years.

तुर्किये ने त्रिपक्षीय रक्षा संधि, जिसे मक्का संयुक्त रक्षा समझौता के नाम से जाना जाता है, को अपनी संसद में अनुसमर्थन के लिए प्रस्तुत किया है। 7 अगस्त को हस्ताक्षरित इस संधि का उद्देश्य क्षेत्र के लिए एक संयुक्त रक्षा वास्तुकला स्थापित करना है। इसमें कहा गया है कि किसी भी सदस्य राष्ट्र पर सशस्त्र हमला होने पर नाटो के अनुच्छेद 5 के समान, सैन्य सहायता सहित सभी आवश्यक साधनों से जवाब दिया जाएगा। समझौते में रक्षा उद्योग सहयोग, खुफिया जानकारी साझा करने और आतंकवाद से लड़ने के प्रावधान भी शामिल हैं। यह संधि 10 साल के लिए प्रभावी होगी।
