CHIME Telescope Detects Ancient Hydrogen Glow

An international team, including researchers from Bengaluru's Raman Research Institute, has detected the faint radio glow of hydrogen from 9 billion years ago. This detection was made using the Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment (CHIME) radio telescope, marking the first time it used only its own data. Hydrogen is the most common element and the raw material for stars. This new method could help scientists study dark energy and the universe's expansion.
