Karnataka May Increase Bus Fares After Raising Milk Prices

Karnataka is considering raising public transport bus fares following recent increases in the prices of Nandini milk and curd. State Transport Minister Byraثi Suresh stated that a meeting with officials from four transport corporations was held to discuss the potential fare hike. The decision is expected soon, with an official announcement to follow. The minister cited rising diesel prices, which have caused a cumulative loss of ₹9,000 crore for the corporations, and an annual deficit of ₹2,000 crore, as the primary reasons for the proposed increase.

नंदिनी दूध और दही की कीमतों में हालिया बढ़ोतरी के बाद कर्नाटक में सार्वजनिक परिवहन बसों के किराए में वृद्धि पर विचार किया जा रहा है। राज्य के परिवहन मंत्री, बायराथी सुरेश ने कहा कि चार परिवहन निगमों के अधिकारियों के साथ किराए में संभावित वृद्धि पर चर्चा के लिए एक बैठक आयोजित की गई थी। निर्णय जल्द ही अपेक्षित है, जिसके बाद एक आधिकारिक घोषणा की जाएगी। मंत्री ने डीजल की बढ़ती कीमतों का हवाला दिया, जिसके कारण निगमों को कुल ₹9,000 करोड़ का नुकसान हुआ है, और ₹2,000 करोड़ का वार्षिक घाटा हुआ है, जिसे प्रस्तावित वृद्धि के प्राथमिक कारण बताया गया है।
