State-owned NMDC reported an 18% year-on-year increase in iron ore production for October, reaching 5.04 million tonnes. However, sales saw a decline of over 11% to 3.44 million tonnes during the same period. Heavy monsoon rains in September and October disrupted the Kottavalasa–Kirandul railway line, impacting dispatches from NMDC's Chhattisgarh mines for nearly a month. With rail connectivity now restored, the company anticipates an improvement in dispatches and sales in the upcoming months.
