Noel Tata to Push to Keep Tata Sons

Tata Trusts chairman Noel Tata plans to urge the Tata Sons board to maintain its private status, resisting a potential stock-market listing. He will argue that the RBI's recent directive, while requiring compliance with upper-layer non-banking financial company rules, does not mandate a listing. Noel Tata also intends to seek clarification from the RBI regarding its rejection of Tata Sons' application to surrender its core investment company registration.
